H-Wave Patients Report Improved Sleep

Pain and sleep have a bidirectional relationship: pain disrupts sleep, and poor sleep can heighten pain sensitivity and spontaneous pain. In the H-Wave PROMs cohorts, many patients reported better sleep alongside symptom improvements—59.76% with chronic back pain, 60.39% with chronic neck pain, 59.89% with chronic shoulder pain, and 55.33% with chronic knee pain. Better sleep can amplify daytime function, therapy participation, and mood. It also supports tissue recovery and cognitive resilience, which are essential during rehabilitation. Because H-Wave is non-sedating and comfortable, it can fit into evening routines without adding sleep medications.

Breaking the pain-sleep cycle is often a turning point in recovery. Patients who sleep more soundly typically report lower next-day pain and better tolerance for graded activity. That creates positive feedback: movement promotes circulation and healing, and consistent routines reinforce both sleep hygiene and therapy adherence. For clinicians, documenting sleep improvements provides another lens to assess progress beyond pain scores. These data points can guide adjustments in timing, frequency, and integration with other restorative strategies.
